A beautiful seven foot tall Matilija poppy framed against a cloudless California day, a swarm of honey bees, and a yellow Asiatic lily.

I reused two old iron Christmas wreath backings and wired them together and planted scarlet runner beans at the base to act as a trellis. The Italian runner beans below are running away on their homemade trellis constructed out of fencing and bamboo stakes. They are already at 9 feet tall and will climb higher if I can find taller bamboo canes this week. And my favorite garden art was constructed out of old pieces of wood found and attached to a rebar arch with wire and now it provides a trellis for a runaway nasturtium vine...all is good in garden of eating!
